Micromelum

Micromelum scandens Rech. (Rutaceae), accession number Tillson 302 (A1-6). No common name. Animation of digital images from 192 cross sections of a carpel showing spirally twisted locules of ovary common (or always present?) in the genus. This specimen was collected on Bougainville Island, now part of Papua New Guinea, in 1930.
